Our Story

We are Stephen and Tiffany Wolters. We were led by our love of natural history to genuine gemstones. Stephen purchased a parcel of unheated, untreated aquamarine. Holding that beautiful brilliance in our hands sparked something lasting.

Over the next four years we collected and studied genuine gemstones — learning about their origins, their rarities, and even newly discovered mines as we went.

By 2010 the market had largely shifted from natural gemstones to lab-created ones. We watched a dying age of beauty disappear. For years it seemed the love of genuine, earth-grown stones had been lost. Most jewelry stores no longer wanted to sell them.

In 2020, during the pandemic, we lost our house in a wildfire caused by lightning. Our private collection of genuine gemstones was all that survived.

Until our first public showing in Los Altos, California in August 2025, only ten people had ever seen it.

Recently, genuine gemstones have begun reappearing. It has been refreshing to see them return. There is a renewed desire for the purity of natural stones pulled from the earth with remarkable phenomena — pleochroic, color-changing, and brilliantly alive.
